Given to me by a friend. Not really my Cup of tea but I'll give it a go.
Surprisingly, I really enjoyed this,
On its way to Plum-crazy.

Thanks for this dolph1n. I read a bio/memoir of Doris Stokes many years ago, & I had conflicting thoughts about whether she was genuine or not. I don't know of Sally Morgan so have no preconceptions about her & I'm interested as to how this psychic comes over.
I've mixed feeling about this book as Sally seemed to be very selective about what she talked about so I don't feel that I got a true overview of things - she'd tempt you with a bit of info then say no more! – & by the end I didn’t feel that much wiser about her life as a psychic.
Mainly it annoyed me that she'd say something potentially intriguing then clam up about it. For example, talking about a spirit in the bathroom of her childhood home… "…it would make me do things. Naughty things I can't tell you about. ….some things are too personal. Too dark and too frightening." - so why mention this at all?! Keep schtum & I'd've been none the wiser but now I was imagining all sorts of potential horrors – not fair!! How can you expect others to understand how you cope with being psychic if you only relate how you help people? I wanted know of the "dark & frightening" side of her gift.
Financial hardship, ill health in the family & other tragedies all lead up to Sally finally taking on the role as Psychic as a career. There’s no doubt she'd had a tough life & at the risk of sounding unsympathetic, I bet there's many like me who can't help but find it ironic that she couldn't foresee these events happening!
As Sally's fame spreads her client base expands to the celebrity world – although Sally's dealings with the Princess of Wales I took with apinch bucket of salt. The latter chapters seemed to be just a namedropping exercise which frankly I wasn’t interested in. For me the incidents with "normal" folk were much more interesting. The boy whose mother drowned is one such scenario….& one that bought a lump to my throat.
It certainly does give cause to wonder just how did she know that? The only person who will truly know the validity of Sally’s gift is Sally herself.

CONTROLLED RELEASE NOTES:
Well this didn't make the bookbox last time but it's going into Poodlesister's Non-fiction Bookbox now!
aken from the Non-Fiction Bookbox, as my TBR pile is massive it may take me a while to get to it.
Like Plum-crazy I too have mixed feelings about this and for much the same reasons. If you are going to put something in a book you should tell it how it is or not bother to put it in at all.
I didn't dislike this book just felt it could have been better.
