I got this softcover from an online seller, for the upcoming "Christmas in July" challenge. (I'm using one of the new scannable QR-code labels, in hopes of encouraging journal entries.)

I didn't see the 2011 film when it first came out, but was introduced to it a couple of years later while visiting family, and promptly fell in love with it. I don't know that a novelization can do it justice, but I couldn't resist getting this anyway. (It includes some photos from the film, and a few production sketches as well.)

The book seems to be a pretty dead-on novelization - but it seemed a bit flat to me, missing the zing of the voice actors and the animation. Might have been better for the novelization to have condensed the details more? But perhaps someone else will enjoy it.

(Written by my 6 yr old): I love it. I is a great adventure - and it is fun to read at Christmas time. About halfway thru it and then we will send it back out.
