Got this at Miami's library book sale, as I am interested to see what a children vampire book is like. (This book was originally published as The Bat Pack and then changed to Star Style.)

I didn't realize then it was a series. For future readers who may be as clueless as I am, here's the backstory: Olivia and Ivy are twins born of a vampire father and human mother, who died in childbirth. Feeling unable to raise both a vampire baby and a human baby, the father gave the human baby up for adoption. When Olivia moves to Franklin Grove, she meets Ivy, and after some Parent Trap moments, gets to know her bio family.

This volume follows the previous one about Olivia being in a movie and falling in love with the lead, and begins with the premier of the movie.

While this series seems to be very popular, I am not sure I like it. The stars gathering at a food mart before the movie premier and other scenes just sound too improbable. Also, I am not sure how the vampire rules in this series work. There seems to be no difference between human and vampire expect for the preference for a steak done raw and an occasional bloody sip in a cup. Maybe other volumes are better, but not keen to read more.

This book rode to the end of the box, and I think I have enough sitting on my To Be Read shelf, that I'll let this one keep traveling on to a new reader. I was going back and forth on reading it first, but Azuki's review suggests that it won't have too many aspects I enjoy in kid's stories.

Released 3 yrs ago (10/13/2020 UTC) at The Really Free Market (hosted by Cortland County Mutual Aid) in Cortland, New York USA

WILD RELEASE NOTES:

Added to the kid's toys, games, and books at the giveaway event. It was gone by the end, so someone took it home!
