This book was taken from Edingthorpe phone box library. It is a paperback in good condition.
From the cover:- "Patricia Jordan's nursing career started in London then she meets the patient who is to become her husband. Being a district nurse is a challenging and at times heartbreaking job."

REVIEW:-I enjoyed this book with its interesting tales of nurse training and insights into the sort of work District Nurses had to do several decades ago. I thought it was well written and I read it quickly.
I was rather alarmed at the tale of the story of the nurse nicknamed Busty who acted very unprofessionally towards her patient to try and teach a "lesson" to the auxiliary who was working with her. This involved the patient having half of her body unnecessarily exposed which I thought was very undignified and disrespectful.
In general though I thought the book was well worth a read."

The book has landed in Hinckley and has been added to Mount Toobie. It may be a while before I get to it though.

Enjoyed this tale of the lives of various medical professionals many moons ago. Couldn't believe the doc who dished out medicine from coloured bottles. Did he even examine patients properly? The nurse nicknamed "Busty" was a character and a half too and not always very professional. It's a wonder she kept her job. Mind you, plenty of the patients were quirky characters too who provided some humour.
