I won this from the authors Twitter page. It's the 5th in a series but I find that doesn't matter to much with mystery books as they tend to be a self contained stories.

I jumped in at book 5 and as I suspected, this didn't matter at all! It was a self contained story, however it does mention some other things that happened in other books and there are obviously some issues between Power & Laura but this does not take you away from the story.

I really enjoyed this mystery tale, which ended up have two bad guys in one! I liked the Grisliness of the Heaney house, was really interested in what was going on there. The second bad guy was featured in another book at some point but it was very easy to pick up where he fit into the story. I also loved the main characters, Power was very likable .

The only minor niggles were that I really could not understand why Power thought going into the tunnels underneath his house, alone, while their were two bad guys after his was a good idea, it was easy to spot how that was going to end up. Also the lack of concern from everyone after they failed to find Joel's Mother.

This book also gave me loads to think about and have been thinking about since I put the book down. The time slip thing is very interesting and also how you can make other people in your house mad due to your own madness.

Overall I really enjoyed this book and would love to read the rest in the series.
