I got this ex-library hardcover from Better World Books. It's a chidren's-book version of the legend behind the blue willow pattern porcelain - though the "legend" was fabricated to help advertise the products that were created in 19th century England with vaguely Chinese-themed ornamentation.
That said, it's a poignant tale of a forbidden romance, a tyrannical father, the lovers' flight - and, much to my surprise, a tragic ending that would suit a Verdi opera!
[I recently purchased some very amusing mugs from Calamityware, which feature a variation of blue-willow-pattern - with the addition of a variety of catastrophes, from UFOs to sea monsters to pterodactyls!]
