I picked this book from a sale of old library books at my local library, and it shows signs of being well read. It is written by Georgette Heyer, a prolific writer of historical romance and mysteries.

The book arrived with loads of BC-stickers and labels, which are much appreciated.
Making more than mental notes that I've tagged Soozreader with this book, so it goes up on my reading list.
Began reading yesterday, but fell asleep - small font has that affect on me. Georgette has a way with words and is full of witty sarcasm, so she was not the reason.
Felt symphaty towards all eight-year-olds who have been sent to boarding schools. What a cruel system.

Finally finished! The book was first published 70 years ago, but some problems seem very up-to-date! Funnily enough, Jermyn Street has been somebody's address in the last three mysteries I've read which have been set to London Town. I've stayed in a hotel there, once. A small street parallel to Piccadilly.
The book finally leaves with 15 other books, Ärräpussi is very good value when sending books!
