Although this is not a book I would normally pick up, I was gripped by this story from page one and was kept guessing until the end. It deals with bullying, domestic as well as sexual violence and murder and it still had me laughing out loud! Hats off to Ms Moriarty! The story is also about friendship and loyalty and has a cast of characters that you come to love or hate in equal measure. None of them leaves you indifferent. It also gives you an insight into modern family life and the petty and trivial bickering that goes on at elementary/primary schools between the parents (not so much between the children). It is hilarious at times, but also very sad. I am so glad I do not have anything to do with this. As I liked this novel so much, I think I am going to give one of Ms Moriarty's other novels a try.
