The first part of the book is number of short Kinsey Millhone detective stories. These have been previously printed in other publications. Kinsey is the detective in the "alphabet series". The second part of the book contain short stories the author wrote in the ten years following her own mother's death. Grafton says Kit Blue is a younger version of her alter ego.
I enjoyed spending more time with Kinsey. I have missed her since finishing the "alphabet series". Reading the Kit Blue stories made me feel for Grafton. She had a tough childhood growing with two alcoholic parents. You can feel her pain inthese stories.
