I'm a big fan of Barbara Kingsolver's writings. In addition to her fiction I love her short essays/memoirs. She grew up in Kentucky, has traveled much, lived in varied places and cultures. Having both an art and science background she has the skill of observation and the wonderful ability to put it all down into writing for others to enjoy.

Started this book during the April 18, 2020 BookCrossing 24 hour Readathon.

By coincidence I am reading this during the 50th Anniversary of Earth Day.
This novel by Kingsolver is dealing with a mine dumping chemical pollution into a river poisoning it's water, it's wildlife, a community's way of life along with it's orchards and it's history.
