This arrived today, thank you!
This was an interesting book, but one I found myself unusually ambivalent about. It was fine; engaging enough that I had no trouble finishing it, but largely forgettable. I had no emotional involvement with the characters, who all remained quite flat. The writing style was unique. I think I would describe it as whimsical, which is a bit odd for a story centered around a stealthy battle of wills and knowledge before the attempted summoning of a world-ending monster.
Overall, an interesting experience, but probably not a book I’d re-read.

One of the starting books for the Otherworldly Shrinking Bookbox
Taking from bookbox.
Something about the summary reminded me of Buffy the Vampire Slayer so, of course, I must read this one. LOL
