My sweet friend HI77 took a break from the COVID-19 crisis and mailed me seven books, including wishlist books. I really don't deserve such kind attention. This one looks like just the kind of trivia book that I really enjoy. I can't wait to discover which strangely named town I will visit next.

This is an interesting and well written anthology of American state and state capital names with information about some of the cites that might be of interest or that have interesting names. It was a follow up to author Neil Swanson's previous book Odd and Peculiar, which was an inspiration out of nowhere that became a minor success. He founded a printing press just for these books. In this age of the internet, this sort of thing like encyclopedias might be considered too old fashioned but this is a charming reference book. It would be right for a schoolroom.

COVID-19 and urban unrest have rendered my home town an unhappy place for wild releasing. This book will go to Goodwill tomorrow with a number of others. There's a drive up where I feel safe donating there.
