There was a violent earthquake, for an angel of the Lord came down from heaven and, going to the tomb, rolled back the stone and sat on it. His appearance was like lightning, and his clothes were white as snow. The guards were so afraid of him that they shook and became like dead men. The angel said to the women, "Do not be afraid, for I know that you are looking for Jesus, who was crucified. He is not here; he has risen, just as he said. Come and see the place where he lay. Then go quickly and tell his disciples: 'He has risen from the dead and is going ahead of you into Galilee. There you will see him.' Now I have told you." ~Matthew 28:2-7

We will never know from how much sin we have been saved and how much temptation we have conquered all because someone prayed for us. A servant girl became a member of a church and was asked what Christian work she did. She said that she did not have the opportunity to do much because her duties were so constant but, she said, “When I go to bed I take the morning newspaper with me. I read the notices of the births and I pray for all the little babies. I read the notices of marriage and I pray that those who have been married may be happy. I read the announcements of death and I pray that the sorrowing may be comforted.” No one can ever tell what tides of grace flowed from her attic room.
