It is time for getting cozy in front of the fire, and enjoying a dram and a treacle pudding with the people your love--unless, of course, you have accidentally gotten pregnant by your ex-boss and you don't know how to tell him. Will Flora find the courage to reveal the truth to her "nearest and dearest". Will her former boss think that she is the bearer of glad tidings or will this holiday season be as bleak as the Scottish highlands in midwinter?
Meanwhile, will Saif, a doctor and refugee from war-torn Syria be able to enjoy his first western Christmas with his sons on this remote Scottish island where he has found asylum. His wife, however, is still missing and her absence creates a shadow over their first Christmas in Scotland.

This was an enjoyable read. I did not want to put the book down. There were several different stories unfolding throughout the book, and the stories were all interconnected.
