While this may be the latest novel in this series that features FBI agents, Savich and Sherlock, it is the first book by Catherine Coulter, which I have read. Despite this, this story was compelling from page one, and it was quite easy to get into the book. Yes, there might be history of what had happened in the previous novels which I missed, but it didn't feel like it.
Sherlock is in an accident, t-boned by another car, and the last thing she remembers is a man hitting her windshield and rolling off the hood before she passes out. When she awakens in the hospital, she has no idea who she is. Like Sherlock, I learned of her life through the memories her husband she shares with her throughout the book.
But, who is the man who left all the blood smeared on her windshield? Is he dead? Is he alive? If so, he has disappeared.
Meanwhile, Carson DeSilva, a young woman is kidnapped by a man who may be responsible for murdering three missing teens. Unfortunately, when she is freed by another FBI agent, Griffin Hammersmith, she is arrested (along with the FBI agent) for assaulting her kidnapper, who is connected to a powerful family. The FBI agent calls in reinforcements (Savich and Sherlock), and the missing teens become a federal case.
These two cases are being investigated in this thriller, and there are plenty of twists and turns to keep a reader turning the page late into the night. Definitely, will be checking out more novels in the series, but this was a good one to start with since there was so much to learn about the protagonists, Sherlock and Savich.

Just because--suspense seems to be another of the genres you read.
