Gritty and at times grim. What a journey. I learnt a lot about African history and geography.

What a lovely parcel, thank you. I've started on the chocolate already.

This is a fabulous book. Great descriptions so I felt like I was there. I even got thirsty when I was reading about the desert crossing. I learnt a lot about Africa's history too. The pictures at the end were great too. I have seen the tv programme but this was so much better.
