This is not an ordinary book: it's a BookCrossing book! BookCrossing books are world travelers - they like to have adventures and make new friends...and every once in a while they even write home to say what they've been doing.

Not sure where this one came from; it's been on my shelf for ages. I haven't read much Bradley: just a couple of the Darkover books and not The Mists of Avalon. She was definitely an influential writer, but unfortunately she's one of the artists whose work has become complicated due to revelations about her personal life.

This is an anthology edited by Bradley: she wrote two of the stories and the first story in the collection was written by Bradley's husband, a convicted sex offender who died in prison.

It looks like most - if not all - of the other contributors are women, some of whose names I recognize. I realize it's not Darkover's fault that its creator was so flawed, and that it's likely that the other writers had nothing to do with Bradley's actions, but I think it's time to let this book go, unread.

Bradley is on my list of artists whose works I won't spend money on any more; I'm significantly less likely to read her stuff as well. :s
