O'Farrell's writing is like a artfully crafted mosaic; each beautiful word or phrase contributing to its overall splendor. She has such a way with imagery and description, and knows exactly how to keep her readers spellbound.
I enjoyed the book very much; though I will confess to some confusion along the way. There were so many characters that I got a bit muddled. The story also jumped around continually with various timelines and narrators, but I think all of that would have been just fine if there had perhaps been a few less people to keep track of.
The book tells the story of a marriage; heartbreakingly poignant and real.
I was not disappointed.

Utterly beautifully written and yes, I also found it hard to keep track of the characters and the timeline but each character was so finely crafted ( even the ones who only popped up in one chapter like Rosalind), it was a pure joy to read.
Ultimately it was all about love, families, loss, friendship and finding the place we call home I suppose.
