I read this book for the 2020 Book Riot Read Harder Challenge prompt of "read a picture book with a human main character from a marginalized community." I thought it was excellent -- both the story text and the illustrations.

CONTROLLED RELEASE NOTES:
A RABCK that I thought you might enjoy. Just a children's book, but I found it to be well done. Might potentially make a nice LFL release for you? Anyhow, it's yours to do with as you please! :)
The box of surprise RABCKs arrived safely today; many thanks! (The cats send thanks too, as they're happily playing in the box right now.)
This one's absolutely charming, with its lively mix of warm family-time, history, and a very tasty-sounding recipe! (It celebrates the Haitian Revolution, which gets a more in-depth treatment in Nathan Hale's Blades of Freedom.)
The final illustration, showing the extended family celebrating cozily inside their apartments while the snow falls on the city outside, is especially charming - but it's all good!
