Eleanor Oliphant is Completely Fine
4 journalers for this copy...

Picked this up from the crammed exchange shelf of the Library of Lauttasaari, my current local library. I have seen this on a few wishlists lately, so wanted to take a closer look.

A surprisingly fast read for a fat book like this. I just kept turning pages and wanted to find out more.
The writer was interviewed at the end and said she was inspired to write the story having read an article about a lonely young professional adult. Eleanor is not just lonely. She also has asperger's although that is never mentioned. The writer must have known somebody with asperger's, but I don't know if she could have used that without realizing it herself or if she just didn't want to make an issue of it. Sometimes the book reminded me very much of "The Curious Incident of the Dog in the night-time".
The book is both on Chania's and slipperbunny's wishlist, but as I am seeing slipperbunny tomorrow and managed to finish the book in time, she will get the book.

CONTROLLED RELEASE NOTES:
Slipperbunny didn't come to the meet-up, so the book is heading to Chania via Tarya and Taavina. This will be right up Chania's alley.

Taavina will be in Helsinki at the end of the month so I'll keep this until then :) It was such a nice - and big! - BC meet-up at Robert's Coffee today!

I finally got to go to a meetup, thank you for the wishlist book!

Lauseen mitalla-book travels to the next reader. Enjoy!
(PS. I read this last year, no idea why I didn't update the journal, but I enjoyed this book a lot!)

Thank you very much for this book! I’m quite happy that behind the first sentence was Eleanor Oliphant!
