Finally the redoubtable Amelia Peabody manages to get husband Emerson on his own, as they travel for yet another archaeological dig in Egypt. As usual though there is an enemy at hand - this time desperate to discover the location of the treasures of the lost land they discovered in the previous book. First Emerson is kidnapped and then Amelia is worried that she's lost his love, and they may have a spy within their own camp. They return to Amarna to try to relive the time they first met, as well as potentially discovering some amazing historical artefacts. The suspense is good, the plot is fairly ridiculous, but fun nevertheless.
