I got this hardcover from a local Goodwill thrift shop. It's a charming tale in rhyme about a farm family as they rise and shine and prepare for market day. The rhymes are short and lively:

"Bread and butter. Apple jam.
Hats on. Shoes on. Screen door slams."

Alas, the family is in such a hurry to pick apples for market that they (a) don't feed the cow and (b) forget to close the gate... Cue increasing chaos at the market while the main family continues to set up their own booth, oblivious to the shouts, the flying produce, and the subtle touches of hoof-prints in the illustrations!

Not to worry - eventually they catch up with the cow, get her fed, and help their neighbors tidy up the mess in time for the market to open!
