I got this softcover at a local Savers thrift shop. I've enjoyed other "biographies of things" by Kurlansky, including Salt and Cod; this one's a bit of a switch, as it's about the song "Dancing in the Street" and how it became an anthem during the summer of 1964. A mix of music and history, with the Vietnam war and the Civil Rights movement forming the political backdrop.
