Its 1947, Kate Herrick, recently widowed, travels to her family home in Scotland to retrieve some documents for her grandmother. Rose Cottage seems unchanged and the villagers friendly enough until there is a brak-in. Her nearest neighbors are three elderly ladies said to be witches. They tell tales of night prowlers and ghost. Kate will have to find out for herself, the truth of these strange happenings.

Although I didn't like this book as much as her earlier work, Mary Stewart has written a good story although its somewhat predictable.

Found this book and out of Book Crossing curiosity took a look to see if it was crossed. It is. Since I'm in the middle of reading 3 other books right now I left it. Fortunately, it's in their lost and found area and stood up where people can see it easily.

Good luck, geniedances, on having it travel well!
