Pulling from the Christmas box. I just read about Cleveland Amory in a book about Boston Christmas traditions. Never realized he was from a Brahmin family, and might be of interest for his literary worth!
A sweet little book full of personality by a man who is both a curmudgeon and quite funny and charming. A great example of what a lighthearted essay can be. I guess that's why it has always sold like hotcakes. I'm pretty sure I got this from the Christmas bookbox, so I'm saving it now for the next iteration of that box.
