Biografie
Maiken Nielsen wurde 1965 in Hamburg geboren. Einen Teil ihrer Kindheit und Jugend verbrachte sie auf Frachtschiffen und wurde dort von ihren Eltern unterrichtet. Sie absolvierte ihr Abitur in Hamburg und reiste danach ein Jahr lang per Anhalter durch Europa. Im Anschluss an diese Reise studierte sie u.a. Linguistik in Aix-en-Provence. Sie liest und spricht sechs Sprachen.
Seit 1996 arbeitet Maiken Nielsen als Autorin, Reporterin und Rundfunksprecherin für das NDR Fernsehen. Sie dreht TV-Dokumentationen ("Als die Sturmflut nach Hamburg kam", "Geraubte Leben -Europa im KZ Neuengamme") und schreibt Romane.
