A Boy and His Dog at the End of the World

The good:
A very interesting premise for a post-apocalyptic story which really draws you in. Very good world-building.
The less-good:
The protagonist, who is only supposed to know our present world from books, knows and understands a little too much.
The teasing of future bad events is WAY overdone.
The pacing of the story is very uneven, especially in the second half. Some parts in the middle are described in too much detail without adding anything new, and the last few chapters, where the real meat of the story is, are completely rushed and needed much more exploration.
