Story of the Bielski brothers and their group of partisans in World War II Belorussia. They fought German invaders and punished collaborators, but are most distinctive for their commitment to welcoming any Jew who arrived at their forest encampment.

An interesting facet of WWII history. The book jumps around, and is sometimes repetitious. Little attention is devoted to women's perspectives.

Read by Stefan Rudnicki. He has the annoying habit of reading every woman's voice as a high-pitched whisper.

Unabridged. 9 CDs. Total playing time approximately 11 hours, broken into tracks 3 minutes long.
