I‘ve heard about this author for ages, so finally ordered this used from amazon.fr, delivered to France. This is the first in the Reluctant Royals series.
I have now finally read something by this author, about whom I have heard repeatedly on various podcasts. This fairy tale like story of the heroine believing she's being spammed and scammed was a fun read. It was a great book for taking my mind off of some of the things currently happening around the world, between the pandemic and the hatred and violence being incited and the racism condoned and encouraged by the leader of one of the world's most influential nations...
Nice to spend one's time with the main characters seeking to do good in the world. Ironically, reading about people wearing masks and other PPE, and singing happy birthday while washing hands was absolutely banal - until I checked and realized the book was published in 2018. I will have to see about getting the next in the series.. centering on Portia, I gather.
