The story is supposed to be over.

Simon Snow did everything he was supposed to do. He beat the villain. He won the war. He even fell in love. Now comes the good part, right? Now comes the happily ever after…

So why can’t Simon Snow get off the couch?

What he needs, according to his best friend, is a change of scenery. He just needs to see himself in a new light…

That’s how Simon and Penny and Baz end up in a vintage convertible, tearing across the American West.

They find trouble, of course. (Dragons, vampires, skunk-headed things with shotguns.) And they get lost. They get so lost, they start to wonder whether they ever knew where they were headed in the first place…

I didn't like this book as much as the previous one, maybe my expectations were a bit high... For sure the writing was very good, and the middle of the book also, full of tension and action and magical things happening. But the beginning was slow and a bit boring, and the ending so abrupt... now we know there needs to be a 3rd book, but I would like to have seen a more certain relationship between Baz and Simon.
And? Why/how do 3 young people from UK not know that the US states are bigger than many countries, never heard about a Frapuccino, and end up driving a manual car when in America almost anyone drives automatics?! It puzzled me a lot.
