I got this hardcover at a local Savers thrift shop. It's by an investigative journalist, and covers a variety of trafficking in human bodies and parts, from organs to blood to adoptees. While each of the industries has its own legal, moral, and practical aspects, the author advocates for complete transparency in all cases where humans or their blood, bones, or organs are up for donation/adoption/transfusion, to make it harder for illegal and/or abusive traffickers to make use of unwilling victims or shadily-obtained parts. That would have its own risks - the author admits that there might be some reduction in donations if people couldn't rely on privacy - but it's certainly worth considering, especially in light of some of the more egregious horrors described here.
