What Is Not Yours Is Not Yours

I got this ex-library hardcover from Better World Books, as it's an upcoming selection for my monthly book group.
Later: I enjoyed most of these stories, though it seems that I missed the bits where they're interconnected - and judging by the book-group discussion I think I liked the book better because I *wasn't* spotting the tie-ins. Anyway, the author has a lovely style that ranges from terse to lyrical, and my favorite tales were evocative and quite inventive. Those included the dark-yet-triumphant fairy-tale-inspired "Drownings" and the hilarious exclusive-university-cliques-inspired "A Brief History of the Homely Wench Society," which features some great stealth-book-swaps and has a very satisfying conclusion.

a nice little surprise outside trillium. i liked the cover and thought the title was ironically fitting for a "lost" book. it has languished on my shelf as i try to finish up other books i'm in the middle of reading...
