This is not an ordinary book: it's a BookCrossing book! BookCrossing books are world travelers - they like to have adventures and make new friends...and every once in a while they even write home to say what they've been doing.

Purchased new at a Scholastic Book Fair; larger photo here.
Toby wants to finish the list of goals that he and his best friend Lucas set up, and the only thing left on his list is hiking (part of) the Appalachian Trail. On the one hand, it's a good adventure story for kids, but on the other hand, I can't help wondering what his grandmother is going through!
