Won in the raffle at the Northampton un-con , not sure if it's my cup of tea , will give it a bash sometime
Well , I read it , very interesting novel in regards as to how England viewed Brexit , following a family and friends as they each dealt with it in different ways.
As a Scotsman who voted remain , I still look in disbelief at how easy the working class and poor of England were duped into voting for it , and this book shows how they were mislead by the upper classes perfectly.

Thanks Minnesota84. The book packaging got a bit damaged en route but the book survived undamaged.

I was really not enjoying this book until page 164 or thereabouts. Then I suddenly saw the funny side and became gripped. It is the most depressing satire about the last ten years of being British (or more accurately English) but it captures the awfulness with humour.

Exactly the same thing happened to me as Poodlesister: thought it was a bit boring until ~150 or so pages, then suddenly started to enjoy it. Great satire & no doubt even greater to those who follow the British politics at closer distance...

I was intrigued, so I took the book.

The same thing happened to me as to previous readers. At first I was not impressed and the megalong chapters didn't make reading any easier. But in the end I enjoyed the book, even though it was pretty melancholy and even depressing. Luckily the end was a happy one, but it felt a bit forced. Coe has captured the clash between people very well.
I almost laughed when I read how Sophie had her phone in a pocket of her jeans. Clearly this novel was written by a man who has no idea how small women's pockets are, lol.
I was also surprised when I saw on GoodReads that this is part three of a trilogy.

WILD RELEASE NOTES:
Left the book at the book swapping shelf. Happy reading!

I found this book today at the same place (Nummi library), where -solaria- had released this one and a half years ago. It's not so long ago I visited the library last time and I always check the book swapping shelf, so clearly this has been adventuring somewhere inbetween. It's always nice to find a BC book out in the wild!
