I got this at Miami's library book sale. For one of my reading challenges, I have to read a comic by a LGBT author. While I've read plenty of YAOI manga, I know both the authors and intended readers are not from the LGBT group. Then someone on GoodReads mentioned Mariko Tamaki and I remember I have this book on my TBR!

This is not an idyllic summer for Rose. She arrives in Awago Beach with her parents for a summer vacation, meeting up with her friend Windy. However, her parents are barely talking to each other, and Rose's crush, the guy at the convenience store, may be involved in some trouble.

While I can't say I love the drawing styles, the story does a great job capturing the difficult moods of the teenagers: too old for childhood games, too young to be part of the adult world. Reminds me of some unpleasant moments of my own childhood.

BTW as I'm registering this book I realize it's a signed copy!
