I wasn't quite standing in line to get this book the day it was released, but I wasn't far behind :-)
I was a bit worried that Atwood might have tried to ret-con the story to fit better with the TV series, but I needn't have worried. There's a couple of plot points that align with the series, but generally this novel is its own thing. And (I was pleased to see) it retains the over-arching structure of The Handmaid's Tale, presented as incomplete historical evidence, letting Atwood leave a lot of things unexplained, which makes for a much better story.
I'm not sure if I liked it quite as much as the original (though that might be just because I've read the original so many times), but it's pretty close.
