A present from a friend, who sent me a parcel of books to aid in my recovery.

A convoluted but entertaining story about time travel, reconstructing history, and messing about in boats.

A time travel story that has some great thinking, witty weaving in of literature and history jokes...but it was at times too clever for its own good. Without a breadth of classic knowledge or Victorian poetry I felt some of the humour was lost of me.

A good editor could have removed about 50 paged from this book to tighten up the plot.
