I’m a big Brontë fan and I love reading books (fiction or non-fiction) about the three literary sisters.
In this book, we meet Samantha Whipple, the last descendant of the Brontë family, who goes to Oxford to study Literature and escape the memories of her father’s death in a house fire. But, in the English town, strange things start to happen – her father’s copies of the Brontë masterpieces start appearing at her door. But how can that be, if they were destroyed in the fire? Thus starts a literary treasure hunt…
The book offers some interesting theories about the siblings’ rivalry and the “true” inspiration behind their stories. The problem, in my case, is that the book is written in a chic-lit/YA style that doesn’t really appeal to me. The author tries to bring humour to the story through the main characters’ relationship, but they just turn out plain silly and frustrating. I enjoyed reading about another Brontë theory, but the narrative wasn´t my cup of tea.

Picked from the VBB-Women in Fiction. Enjoy :-)

Received yesterday and started already - really caught me straight away. It was delivered to my neighbour downstairs from me so when he brought it up I thought it was a very suitable title :-) :-)
Enjoyed the mystery side of it but I would, I think, have liked it better if I actually had read the books they were talking about.
