How lovely to have brunch with Billbooks and Greg while I was visiting Melbourne. Great to catch up again, with an added bonus of a 666 book thrown in.

Following the story of a woman and her family, told in short chapters which don’t flow together but are vignettes of her life. Social norms of Taihiti are woven through the story; expectations towards relatives, gender norms, money and work.

An easy introduction into life in this society, but not an overly satisfying read to gain a depth of understanding.
