Elinor Rochdale is hired as a governess, but ends up caught up in Lord Carlyon's attempt to keep his good name. Married off to an unpleasant stranger, but very quickly widowed, she finds herself in the middle of a dangerous adventure at the time of the Napoleonic Wars. Fun but the usual Heyer magic is a bit lacking in this one.
