Will every treasured possession find its perfect home?
Nora's world has been turned upside-down. Escaping heart-break in London, she returns to her childhood home in Dublin where her grandmother's beloved house is being sold. Nora has been left with an inheritance of treasured belongings, but no home of her own in which to keep them.
Unable to bear auctioning them off, Nora resolves to stay in Dublin and open The Memory Shop, a very special business which matches each gorgeous object with a perfect new owner. It's not long before these objects begin to transform the lives of those they touch, creating new stories and new chances at happiness.
As Nora lets go of a lifetime of treasures, she unlocks tantalising clues to her grandmother's mysterious past. But can she finally let go of her own...?

I am a sucker for titles.. unusuals ones (like "the Guernsey potatoe peel pie..") or ones like this one here.
What I got was a nice book, not exactly what I expected for I thought Nora is going to match these items of her shop to the new owner herself. But it is more the new owners find them themselves..
There was maybe a bit too much cheating and breaking up marriages, but at least not all of them turned into a happy end. Which is how life works.
I liked Nora and I liked Will.. I can understand Alice but can't relate since I wasn't a puberty hit teenager like her or so my parents told me ;-)
Anyway, nice to read - and now I will offer it in the Forum...

Thanks for sending this book and for including an address label. That will certainly get used soon, probably on your own envelope, as I always try to re-use packaging as much as possible.
Quite a nice book.
Nora goes to Ireland after catching her husband in the act of cheating with Nora´s friend and co-worker. She inherits her grandmother's house, which is full of antique knick-knacks. In stead of selling everything on eBay, she opens a shop, where each item tells the story of a memory of her grandmother. There are lots of side-characters coming in and out the shop, lots of love-stories (some rather predictable) and other aspects of life. I like the way the story was built, each chapter named after an item that was going to be bought from the store. But there were a lot of characters and sometimes I found it hard to keep track of everyones background story.

Off to the next person on the Bookray!
I always try to post my controlled releases with real stamps. If you are not a collector yourself, you might want to check out this post on the forum about a stamps sweeps that I’m currently organising (now closed) or this one about Bookcrossers who collect stamps. A lot of Bookcrossers collect stamps for charity, so it’s nice to find them a good home!

This is here as a ring, and I really enjoyed it. At first I was worried that there would be little or no connection between the various people spotlighted in the different chapters. I recently read Destinations by Sheila O‘Flanagan, and that was my frustration. Here though, there was a decent amount of looping of loops.
I enjoyed envisaging Nora‘s windows, and it was a delight to see her gain independence and confidence. I was sad when the book ended. A good read, headed to Belgium next.

This was sent from Paris, near the Place d‘Italie (avenue de Choisy), and now heads to Belgium.
Thanks for making this available. Enjoy!

This book definitely grew on me. During the first few chapters I was a little confused as more and more seemingly random characters were introduced but as the novel progressed everything fell into place. Also, I want to befriend Nora, Fiona, Alice and Will. Each chapter of The Memory Shop details one item, and one person; there's Alanna and the nine-carat yellow gold locket; Lia and the freshwater pearl earrings, and others, as well as some of Nora's own personal stories. Each story is interwoven, with characters appearing throughout the novel.
This was my first by this author and it will not be my last...loved every word line chapter and page of this heart warming read....Brilliant storyline ...amazing characters and a great setting....totally recommend this book and author.

It will go to Canada soon.
The book has arrived in Canada and I will start reading soon to keep its journey going. Thank you kiki66 for offering this as a bookray and Maria-Nunes for sending it to me.
A little cliche, but beautiful written and featured a cast of interesting characters. It was a very lovely read and I enjoyed it a lot. I will be on the lookout for other works by the author.
On its way to the next reader on the bookray. Enjoy!
Received this week. I will start reading ASAP.
I kind of lost interest in this book. In didn't find the characters very interesting, and too many to keep track of.

This book arrived today. I'm in between books so I'll start it next. Thanks!
I loved it! It took a couple chapters to figure out the characters, because it jumps around a lot! I couldn't put it down.
Sending this wishlist book off to iwillrejoice. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did!
