Auckland, 1942
It is the anxious years of World War II. Silvey Chan lives above a shop in Auckland's downtown Chinese district. Hers is a close-knit community with its own traditions and festivals - and even a neighbourhood ghost.

Winging its way to the HomeSweet Home Winner. I hope you enjoy this book from New Zealand :D
Came home to find this waiting - thank you so much, looks great!
a delightful YA book set in 1942 in Auckland, New Zealand. The diary format really captures the world of a 12 year old girl in the city's Chinatown and I read it in one sitting.
