This is an absolutely beautiful story. Young ungainly Tristan Thorn lives in the sleepy village of Wall, a village with a difference - there is a gap in the wall, and no one may go through. Tristan is in love with the beautiful Victoria Forester, and promises to retrieve a falling star to win his heart's desire. Once he crosses through the wall he is in a strange and magical land, where Tristan finds that not only is everything different to home but that he himself isn't who he thought he was. A wonderful read - though the film is great too.
