It was ages ago since I last read this book, which I have bought second-hand from Britain for 30p. I remember loving the story and as I also have the book in Finnish (I know, the disease can be classified serious), I am willing to send Rascal on to meet new readers.
Last but not least, little Rascal. This is book 9/9 of my 9th Bookiversary RABCK.

I loved the book. Who knew a raccoon would be so much fun! I really enjoyed reading about a year in the author's life. Children in the past were so different. I cannot imagine a modern child of twelve building their own canoe. How much fun would that be?

What an enchanting little book. A really lovely story about the little raccoon with such a big heart and entertaining character. I particularly liked the passage about the sugar lumps - what a quick learner! Got bit emotional towards the end but that's what a good book can do to you!
