I gave this 50 pages, but the plethora of rapidly-introduced, mostly colourless characters caused me to lose interest quickly, and I gave it up. No doubt Rowling fleshed her people out with more interesting details later in the book, but I wasn't engaged enough to wait for it (particularly once it became clear that the book was about small-town politics. Yawn).
