"Marianne Messmann longs to escape her loveless marriage. On a trip to Paris, she throws herself into the Seine, but is rescued by a passer-by. While recovering in hospital, Marianne sees a painting of a beautiful port town and decides to embark on a final adventure.Once in Brittany, she befriends a host of colourful characters who gather in a seaside bistro called Ar Mor. Among food, music and laughter, Marianne discovers a new version of herself - passionate, carefree and powerful. That is until her past comes calling... "
Thanks for the wishlist surprise, Piiku! It was nice to meet you in Turku at the BC summer convention today!

CONTROLLED RELEASE NOTES:
Vein BC-miittiin tarjolle, siirtyi siellä Pamina-kuriirin haltuun tavoitteenaan päästä hetku77:lle, jonka toivelistalla tämä on suomenkielisenä - toivottavasti alkukielinenkin kelpaa?
19.7.2022 In a BC meeting again today - so nice! Thank you for fulfilling my wish, lukutuoli!
5.4.2023 I read a Finnish translation of the book, so this one is available to continue its journey.

Passed to me by a friend at the 2024 BC Convention in Tampere. I've read the bookshop one, but not this one. So it will go back to England with me. Thankyou hetku77!
I have finished reading this at the end of our trip in Sweden, so I suspect it will travel back to the UK with me where I will give it away somewhere.
This french-love light book made a nice change from the recent murder stories I have read. Makes me more curious about visiting Brittainy. Yes, this is a predictable and whimsical story where everyone gets neatly partnered off by the end, and the rose tinted view of true, never ending love reigns supreme, but it makes for light escapism. Quite nice as well that the woman getting her second chance and finally discovering herself is 60, but isn't portrayed as some out of touch wrinkle bag.

Roecliffe is our nearest phone box for swapping books - and that's what I did this afternoon, very pleased to find a BookCrossing sticker, thank you!
I enjoyed The Little Paris Bookshop by this author back in May 2016.
16.8.24 BookCrosser -Hazel- has shown an interest in reading this after me.

An unhappy woman walks away from an unhappy marriage and finds love and acceptance among an eclectic and eccentric group of friends in coastal Brittany - but doesn't think she deserves it . . .
