Here a quote from the back cover: "Runcie has taken a small nugget of history and polished it to the delicious effect."

I just couldn´t resist buying a book about the colour BLUE, especially since it has a map in the front (I always love that) and the chapters have names like Siena, Persia, Venica and Tun-Huang. Irresistible. Now that I´ve read it, I must say, it is a "delicious" book, but the "nugget" is a bit too small for my taste. I really like big, chunky books better. Yummy.

Am sending this off to medulienka as part of a trade - hope you enjoy the read and the BLUE!

I finished the book yesterday. Really a nice story and easy to read. The map in a book is indeed a good thing. But as I tried to use it to follow the route, it didn't help much. So I think they could have chosen a more suitable one. Otherwise very interesting, especially for somebody as myopic as me. I can't imagine how the people could ever live without glasses !

medulienka give me the book at the meet up in Karlsruhe. Perhaps it's because I wear glasses, too ?
It's really an easy reading book and now I like to have a look at The Maestà and the perfect blue !
