A guy with stars

where eyes should have been,
and never fall away.

For a yaoi book that is from the generation it is, it has a very good plot line.

Generally the old ones are mostly unrealistic and or was just mostly about guys randomly having sex really. No real plot to it.

This is not one of those. It actually has a pretty decent plot and a good storytelling pace. You tend to start to care about the characters. They're are 3 dimensional here and it makes the story really worth it.

It's actually pretty sweet and romantic. All the elements of Love verses the ideal that you're holding your head. Most the time reality crushes it because it isn't real love. And this is the test of that idolization of a younger person.

It's actually pretty well done and one of my favorites.

This lucky little book had become part of a trade! :)

So off it goes! ;)

The big-box-o-trade-books arrived safely today; many thanks! (I enjoyed False Memories by the same author; will see how this one compares.)

Later: Definitely an entertaining story, with good elements of friendship as well as romance, all centered around a young high school lad's idolization of judo star and upperclassman Saitou - who turns out to be a less-admirable character than poor Akimoto had imagined. Until Saitou's own secrets begin to come out...

Their story unfolds in the chapters "Dash!", "Accelerate!", and "Up!", plus the "Restart" chapter at the end. The rest of the volume features the three-chapter tale "Cheeky," about a boy whose family moves away, leaving his younger cousin behind; ten years later the cousin pops up again - but the cute, attached little kid is now a rebellious teenager. This story's a more typical angsty/incompatible-orientation-or-is-it one, but it's done with a nice touch.
