I got this book at a local Goodwill thrift shop. It's the best-selling novel that was adapted to the screen in this 1995 film - and was also adapted as a stage musical. I admit that the story didn't appeal to me at all, certainly not as a romance, and I found the writing pretty glurgy, but many people love it, so I hope this book will find someone to appreciate it properly!
