I got this graphic novel at Barnes and Noble. It's a spin on "Beauty and the Beast", but with the beast being the gentle soul and the "gentlemanly" Liam being a lot darker inside...

The story opens with the huge horned and hairy monster (whose long locks obscure his face save for a glimpse or two of what appear to be serrated jaws) coming to the rescue of a white-haired man of middle age who's yelping in pain under the attentions of several other men. But Liam, the supposed victim, blithely explains to his savior that things were more or less consensual - though starting to get out of hand, hence his delight in being relieved of their company. He gets flirty with the monster, who's surprisingly shy and naive, and after some ups and downs they wind up traveling together.

Quite literally "together", too, as it seems the monster can "hide in shadows", melting into specific objects and even, after some experimenting, into Liam himself, allowing them to enter a town without anyone seeing the huge hairy creature. But just as Cavo, the monster, is beginning to grow fond of Liam, he finds himself jealous of all the lovers that Liam blithely takes during the evenings, and Liam flatly refuses to limit his own pleasures at all. Cue a breakup - until the shadowy figures who are hunting Liam get onto his track, inspiring Cavo to come to the rescue yet again!

Liam does seem to be completely self-centered and hedonistic, with few if any scruples. Can Cavo have any kind of relationship with him without getting his heart broken? Doesn't seem likely, but I'll be interested to see where the next volume takes the characters!

I left this book in the Little Free Library in front of the Revive center; hope someone enjoys it!
